Arctic Snow Is Turning To Rain Rapidly
Chelsea Harvey From E&E News wrote an article about how the timeline for the arctic snow melting has significantly decreased. Initial studies suggested that the arctics would be rain dominated somewhere in the 2100s, with the new technology it is now anticipated to be "as early as the 2060s or 2070s if the world continues to warm at high rates between now and the end of the century." What this means and what the article is trying to provide insight in is about the rapid change in the climate and the effects that it could present. There is multiple different effects this presents on humans, One of the problems addressed in the article was how the white snow helps reflect some of the light from the sun away from the earth. If ice caps continue to decrease less heat will be reflected from the earth causing the planet to heat up even quicker. Another effect this could have as most people know, Flooding in cities will increase. Places like New York, and Miami are expected to flood as the ice continues to melt.
Another thing mentioned in the article was about how if major changes were to happen the countries are going to need to follow the Paris Climate Agreement which was mentioned in class. Even if countries were to follow the Paris Climate Agreement it would only be able to hold climate change to about 2 degrees Celsius compared to without around 3 degrees Celsius. The Paris Climate Agreement in short was a meeting between countries all over the world to help solve the problems and fight against climate change. Overall none of the countries are following the efforts and as of right now is essentially useless as almost nobody Is meeting their expectations.

Some of the ways information from the article is useful provides awareness for myself and many others on the effects we could suffer and the affects we have towards our planet. Although flooding does not effect me to much I have family that could be. A lot of my family lives in upstate New York which could effect their houses causing them to move which could also lead to overpopulation in certain areas with less land to use. Along with that, with less land there is less crops and farms for people to live. Obviously with the increase in rain that can effect things like that as well.
